Former Chelsea and Arsenal winger, Willian, has reportedly agreed personal terms with a Saudi Arabian club, just days after committing his future to newly-promoted Premier League side, Fulham.
The Brazilian international only joined Fulham on a free transfer earlier this summer, after his contract with Arsenal was terminated by mutual consent. He signed a one-year deal at Craven Cottage, with the option for an additional year.
However, reports have emerged that the 33-year-old has had a change of heart and is now set to move to the Middle East. It is understood that he has agreed personal terms with an unnamed Saudi Arabian club, with negotiations now ongoing between the two clubs over a transfer fee.
Willian’s U-turn has come as a shock to Fulham, who were counting on the experienced winger to help them in their fight for survival in the Premier League this season. The London club have already lost a number of key players this summer, including Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Tosin Adarabioyo, and will be hoping to hang on to the rest of their squad.
Willian’s move to Saudi Arabia would see him follow in the footsteps of a number of high-profile players who have recently moved to the Middle East, including former Manchester United striker, Romelu Lukaku, and former Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder, Xabi Alonso.
