Manchester United have reportedly rejected a loan bid from West Ham United for their captain and center-back, Harry Maguire. The Hammers were hoping to secure Maguire on loan for the upcoming Premier League season, as they look to bolster their defense ahead of a potential European campaign.

However, Manchester United are said to be unwilling to part with their captain and have rejected West Ham’s offer. Maguire has been a key player for the Red Devils since joining from Leicester City in 2019, and United are believed to be determined to keep hold of him.

The rejection of West Ham’s loan bid comes after Manchester United recently completed the signing of French center-back, Raphael Varane, from Real Madrid. Varane is expected to form a formidable partnership with Maguire at the heart of United’s defense next season.

Maguire himself has also expressed his commitment to the club, saying in a recent interview that he is “fully focused” on playing for Manchester United. “I’m fully focused on the season ahead with Manchester United,” he said. “I’m fully committed to the club and can’t wait to get started.”

The rejection of West Ham’s loan bid is a blow to the London club, who have been active in the transfer market this summer. The Hammers have already signed goalkeeper Alphonse Areola on loan from Paris Saint-Germain and completed the permanent signing of defender Craig Dawson from Watford.

However, West Ham manager David Moyes may still look to bolster his defense before the transfer window closes. The club has been linked with a number of other center-backs, including Kurt Zouma of Chelsea and Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina.

As for Manchester United, the rejection of West Ham‘s bid shows their determination to keep hold of their key players and build a squad capable of challenging for titles. With the signing of Varane and the retention of Maguire, United will be hoping to have a rock-solid defense next season and compete for the Premier League title.
