Barcelona has made an initial move to secure the services of Manchester City’s 29-year-old full-back, Kyle Walker. The Catalan giants are reportedly interested in signing the experienced defender, who has won multiple Premier League titles with Manchester City.

Walker joined Manchester City in 2017 from Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of around £50 million, and he has been a key player for the club ever since. Known for his pace, athleticism, and defensive skills, the Englishman has been a regular in Manchester City‘s backline over the past few seasons.

Barcelona’s interest in Walker comes as the club looks to strengthen its defense ahead of the new season. The Catalan giants have struggled defensively in recent years, and new coach Ronald Koeman is keen to bring in reinforcements to shore up the backline.

While Walker is primarily a right-back, he is also capable of playing on the left and could provide much-needed depth in both positions. His experience in the Premier League would also be a valuable asset for Barcelona, as the team looks to compete in both La Liga and the Champions League.

However, the move for Walker is still in the early stages, and there are several obstacles that Barcelona will need to overcome if they hope to sign him. Manchester City is reportedly unwilling to let the defender go for less than €25 million, which could prove to be a stumbling block for the Catalan giants.

In addition, Walker is currently under contract with Manchester City until 2024, and the club may be reluctant to let him go without a suitable replacement lined up.

Despite these challenges, Barcelona is determined to sign Walker and is said to be preparing a formal bid in the coming weeks. If successful, the move would be seen as a major coup for the Catalan giants and could provide the team with the defensive stability it needs to compete at the highest level.
